IRVINE, Calif. – Reno 1868 FC will look to spring another road upset in the 2018 USL Cup Playoffs when the No. 5 seed heads to take on No. 1-seed Orange County SC in the Western Conference Semifinals this Saturday night at Champions Soccer Stadium having taken victory when the sides last met during the final weekend of the regular season two weeks ago. #OCvRNO kicks off at 10 p.m. ET and can be watched live on ESPN+ in the United States and YouTube internationally, and followed live via the USL Match Center.
@OrangeCountySC claimed its first postseason win in club history as Michael Seaton recorded a hat trick against No. 8-seed Saint Louis FC this past Saturday night in a 4-0 victory that saw OCSC avoid becoming the fourth consecutive Western Conference No. 1-seed to fall in its opening game of the postseason. The win was Orange County’s 11th in 18 contests at home this season as Seaton recorded the fourth hat trick in USL Cup Playoffs history. The last time Orange County reached the Western Conference Semifinals was in the 2015 USL Cup Playoffs, when the side earned a bye through the conference quarterfinals by finishing top of the conference standings.
@Reno1868FC also claimed its first USL Cup Playoffs win last Saturday night as Brian Brown’s goal in the second minute of second-half stoppage time lifted the visitors to a 1-0 win against No. 4-seed Real Monarchs SLC at Zions Bank Stadium. The victory continued Reno’s strong recent run of form that has seen the side go undefeated in its last eight games (6-0-2). That undefeated streak includes a 3-1 victory against Orange County on October 13 that saw Antoine Hoppenot score a pair of goals for 1868 FC at Greater Nevada Field, a performance Reno will be hoping it can repeat as it heads on the road for this encounter.
