Orange County SC announced today the acquisition of defender Ryan Flood, on loan for the 2024 USL Championship season from Phoenix Rising FC. The 25-year-old Scottsdale, AZ native helps reinforce the Black and Orange backline and is available for selection this weekend.
Flood has appeared four times in all competitions this year for Phoenix, playing 132 minutes in total. He is primarily a left-back, but has played in the midfield and as a right winger at times this year.
In 2023, Flood took his talents to the Emerald Isle where he signed with Finn Harps FC, a League of Ireland First Division side in Ballybofey, Ireland. This was Flood’s first time playing abroad, and in 37 matches across all competitions with the Harps he tallied 14 goals and six assists. He played primarily as a left-back, but also made some appearances as a winger. He captained the side twice.
2024 marked Flood’s second stint with the Rising, after also appearing for the club in the 2021 and 2022 seasons. In total with Phoenix, he has played 42 matches in total contributing one goal and two assists.
Catch Ryan and the rest of the Black and Orange this Saturday, June 1 as they host Detroit City FC at The Champ on Pride Night. Gates will open at 6:00 PM, with kickoff to begin at 7:00 PM. A limited number of seats are still available, grab yours here!
