SPUTTERING INTO THE CHAMP

DCFC has gone undefeated against Western Conference sides so far this season (2-0-1), including a 2-1 win over Colorado Springs in their lone other Western road trip this season. They are led by midfielder Maxi Rodriguez in goals (3) and goalkeeper Nathan Steinwascher in saves (21). Former OCSC defender Alex Villanueva is expected to be available for selection.

TIME TO TURN THE PAGE
Orange County SC dropped a 2-0 decision at home to Loudoun United FC last Saturday. It concluded a month in which OCSC suffered numerous key injuries and failed to pick up a point in league play and crashed out of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The good news is, Detroit City offers a new challenge and a new opportunity to get back on the right track. They will do so with the youngest squad in the league at the moment. Last week’s 20-man matchday roster average age was 21.7, and a similar number is expected on Saturday. As much as Saturday’s match is a chance for OCSC to get back on the right track, it’s also a chance for the #NextWave of youth talent at Orange County SC to rise up and help the ship while the veterans get healthy again.
