Orange County SC suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Louisville City FC at Lynn Family Stadium in Louisville, KY on Saturday, May 11. It marks just the second loss of the season for the County Boys.
OCSC recorded the first chance of the evening in the eighth minute, when defender Ryan Doghman came streaking down the left flank and played a cross into the box. Midfielder Brian Iloski headed the cross on target, but the effort was saved by LCFC goalkeeper Damian Las.
The hosts had their first chance of the night in the 14th minute, as forward Jansen Wilson struck a right-footed-shot that goalkeeper Colin Shutler saved diving to his left.
LouCity took the lead five minutes later in the 19th minute, when forward Wilson Harris collected the ball at the top of the box and slotted home with his left foot.
The Black and Orange were able to head into the halftime team talks at 1-0, thanks to two more saves from Shutler in the final 25 minutes.
The County Boys began the second half on the front foot, as Iloski once again had the first solid chance of the half. He made a darting run from his own half, fending off defenders as he made his way into the box. He fired a right-footed effort towards the near post that was kept out by Las.
Louisville City threatened again in the 58th minute, when midfielder Jorge Gonzalez was played through on goal by midfielder Elijah Wynder. Gonzalez appeared to be in alone on goal, but defender Owen Lambe made a slide tackle at the last moment, to clear the ball away.
The hosts doubled their lead in the 68th minute when substitute forward Adrien Perez found forward Ray Serrano in the box, who scored with his left-foot from close range.
OCSC appeared to claw a goal back in the 78th minute after substitute Bryce Jamison found fellow substitute Ethan Zubak for a tap in in front of an empty net, but his goal was disallowed for offsides.
LouCity added a third goal in the 86th minute through forward Jansen Wilson.
The Black and Orange are back on the road next Saturday, May 18 when they face Oakland Roots SC in Hayward, CA. They return to Championship Stadium on Saturday, May 25 as they host Loudoun United FC on Fiesta de Beer Fest! A limited number of tickets are still available, grab yours here!
