Tulsa, Oklahoma. (May 13, 2017) Orange County SC travelled to Tulsa, Oklahoma looking to make it back to back wins for the first time this season. However it was Tulsa who came out on top, coming away with a 4-0 win.
Orange County SC thought they had taken the lead just one minute into the game, when Carlos Alvarez slipped a pass into the feet of Wuilito Fernandes who fired into the roof of the net. However he was adjudged to be in an offside positon.
Orange County saw plenty of the ball in the early stages of the game but couldn’t manage to find the opener and against the run of play, it was Tulsa Roughnecks who took the lead. 3 minutes later Tulsa doubled their lead when Ian Svantesson riffled a shot past Lyon. The goal came following a long ball played forward to Svantesson who nodded the ball down and picked up the return pass 20 yards from goal and then hit a well struck shot to hand Tulsa a 2-0 lead.
Orange County pushed in the second half to get back into the game and created a couple of chances, with Alvarez and substitute Kevin Jeon going close. As Orange County pressed forward in search for goals, they fell to a third goal as Tulsa hit them on the counter attack. Substitute Joey Calistri found himself in acres of space and in on the Orange County goal, as Lyon came out to close him down he dinked the ball over the keeper and into the net.
Tulsa made it 4-0 in the 81st minute, as Svantesson grabbed his second of the night. Brady Ballew picked up a clearance by Orange County and fed the ball into Svantesson who fired his shot across Lyon into the far corner, to seal a 4-0 win.
